Offshore fishing in Islamorada involves many types of
fishing. Trolling lures and rigges baits will allow fisherman
to catch dolphin ("mahi mahi"), wahoo, tuna and marlin.
Deep dropping will produce swordfish and live baiting with
light tackle will catch sailfish. The fish you will target
depends on the anglers preference and the time of year.
Spring and summer means dolphin ("mahi mahi"), wahoo
and tuna. Cold fronts in the winter get the sailfish biting.
Kite fishing is very productive as well as sight fishing for
the sails. There is always something to catch offshore in
Islamorada.
